At Caxacori Studio, we know that fashion can become a sustainable industry that contributes to solving the problems of the planet and people.

CAXACORI STUDIO is a sustainable fashion company that develops circular economy biomaterials with environmental and social impact for fashion brands and designers who want to add sustainability elements and materials to their designs and products.

We currently work with native communities in the Amazon developing bioleather and wild rubber soles that help conserve the Amazon forest and empower families. We are also developing new proposals for circular economy bioleathers or biotextiles.

At CAXACORI STUDIO we are convinced that fashion can become a sustainable industry that provides solutions to the needs of the planet and people, which is why we work with biologists, chemists, engineers, designers, artisans and laboratories, in the development of new functional materials for fashion and new forms of production that are more friendly to the environment.

LAB I+D

At CAXACORI STUDIO we know that research and innovation is the way to solve major environmental and social problems and reconnect with nature. The world is in constant change and conflict, and technology focused on sustainability, green chemistry and the power of nature can help us improve our environment and our relationship with ourselves.

CAXACORI STUDIO’s R&D and scale-up lab is focused on designing, formulating and developing new processes and new sustainable materials for the fashion and related industries. Circular economy materials, with a higher rate of biodegradability, recyclable and regenerative. Our studies are focused on eliminating or minimizing more and more the use of plastic and synthetic material in our products, also discarding any material or input of animal origin.

History: Passion and perseverance

Eleven years ago, I began my own personal research into the impact of the fashion industry. My idea was to find better alternatives to materials that were more environmentally and people-friendly.

It was not easy, and I encountered many problems: there was no knowledge or trained personnel, I did not have the necessary funds, and the people and allies I was looking for did not see a future in this... but I did. Over the course of those years, there was hard work, difficult moments, early mornings, unsuccessful research, doubts, uncertainty, health problems, financial problems...

But I persisted, and with effort, new alliances, and some financial support, I began to form a team. Very young and highly motivated people, and allies who began to believe it was possible. We began to experiment: trial and error, trial and error, trial and error... and these defeats generated new knowledge. We connected with laboratories, engineers, academics, artisans, and designers, and gradually we began to make progress. We saw how little by little our materials began to take shape. We were able to make them more resistant, softer, and with a higher bio-based content.

This is how CAXACORI STUDIO was born, with the vision of creating new alternative materials with environmental and social impact for the fashion industry. This wonderful journey is not over yet, and we are not doing it alone. We are accompanied by many professionals and organizations with a strong commitment to making the world a better place through materials”.

TEAM

  • Jorge Cajacuri / FOUNDER & CEO

I love design. I am passionate about visually projecting ideas, creating shapes and colors. Like any university graduate of my generation I had an individualistic view of life, I was doing well professionally, but despite working in what I like, I felt that. I was missing something, a purpose, a deeper motivation.

I wanted to do something that would impact people and my environment on a more transcendent level. In this circumstance CAXACORI STUDIO was born, a company where we develop circular economy biomaterials that help preserve the Amazon. I believe that a material not only has a physical and functional dimension, but also represents identity and territoriality, which can generate a more natural experience and connect with people through sensations and emotions.

  • Fabrizio Carpena / FOUNDER & CMO

Biomaterials are important to help reduce the environmental impact in fashion and design. At Caxacori Studio we have over 10 years of experience in researching, developing, managing and implementing initiatives around circular economy and sustainable fashion. We seek to design and propose new ways to experience the material feeling.
